FAQ - Signature Recognition


What is Signature Recognition?
 
Signature recognition systems measure and analyze the physical activity of signing such as stroke order, pressure applied and the speed of the pen while signing. It differs substantially from the way signature recognition on paper is done which compares the visual aspects of the signature.

What are the pros and cons of a Signature Recognition system?
 
Pros of a Signature recognition systems:
  • Extremely difficult to mimick the behavior of signing
  • Low False Acceptance Rates (FAR)
  • People are used to sign documents, so signature recognition systems are not perceived to be invasive.

Cons of a Signature recognition systems:

  • People may not always sign in a consistent manner
