SecuGen's FDU04 fingerprint OEM sensors capture and transmit fingerprint data via USB. FDU04 fingerprint sensors work with any application based on SecuGen algorithms available in the SecuGen SDK Collection. Third party algorithms may also work with FDU04 sensors using SecuGen's image capture tools.
The highly versatile FDU04 use next-generation fingerprint technology including SecuGen’s ruggedized, high image quality fingerprint optic module.

- Ultra-high 1200+ DPI native resolution, FBI-compliant 500 DPI effective resolution
- High durability and ruggedness: proven resistance to electrostatic shock, impact, drops, scratches, extreme temperatures, humidity, electrostatic discharge, and contaminants (sweat, dirt, oil, etc.)
- Ease of integration into FIPS 201 compliant applications
using SecuGen’s MINEX certified Template Extractor and
Matcher algorithms or 3rd party MINEX algorithms
- Multi-Device Connectivity: Allows multiple FDU04 devices to be connected to one
computer at the same time when used with Secugen SDK.
- Device Recognition: Uses a programmable internal serial number to identify and
differentiate FDU04 devices when used with Secugen SDK.

Auto-On: Auto-On is a feature that allows the sensor to automatically detect the presence of a finger when placed on the sensor and to send a signal to the "application" to capture the fingerprint. By eliminating the need for a user to prompt the "application" and wait until it is ready for capture, Auto-On is ideal for high traffic or high throughput uses.
Smart Capture: Smart Capture is a feature ensures quality fingerprint scanning of difficult fingers. By automatically adjusting the brightness of the sensor, Smart Capture allows the SecuGen fingerprint reader to capture high quality fingerprints from a wide range of traditionally difficult fingers, including those from dry, wet, scarred or aged skin, and even in bright ambient conditions such as under direct sunlight.
